Coach Pitino is advised about the text message during a team dinner. He then removes Chris Jones from the table and suspends him from the Louisville basketball team.

The team played without Chris Jones at Syracuse; Louisville loses 69-59.
February 19
Chris Jones gave up his cell phone and returned to the basketball team; he is given a 9 pm curfew as a condition of returning to the team.
February 21
Chris Jones plays in the Miami game and leads the Cardinals to a 55-53 win.
February 22
Chris Jones allegedly rapes & sodomizes one woman, then with two of his friends, rapes and sodomizes a second victim. This accrued in the early AM while celebrating the Miami win.
February 22
The Louisville athletic department is advised that Chris Jones violated his curfew, They also hear he may have be involved in other violations. Chris Jones is then dismissed from the basketball team.
February 25
Jefferson District Judge Katie King signed a warrant for Chris Jones’ arrest on felony charges of first-degree rape and sodomy.
February 26
Chris Jones turns himself over to the Louisville police department, and pleads not guilty in Jefferson District Court. Chris is then released on home incarceration to a local hotel where he has recently moved.
“We believe this gentleman is innocent, and he’s been falsely accused, and he’s going to be found not guilty,”
Said his attorney, Scott Cox.
