Looks like the new bridge in downtown Louisville will be opening three months early according to Governor Steve Beshear. The new downtown bridge should be ready by January 2015.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said they are
“accelerating construction of the bridge … to allow for more extensive improvements that will extend the life of the 51-year-old John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge,”
according to a press release Friday by the Governor’s office.

At a news conference today near the construction site Governor Beshear said,
“Just hang on one more year and this bridge will be built,” The Governor also stated in a press release that today’s announcement means progress will be coming at an even faster pace.”
a bridge right by another bridge, smart 🙂
