Five women, Katina Powell claims are prostitutes have joined a lawsuit against her, IBJ Book Publishing and Dick Cady they say.
“They never gave any consent or permission to use their name, stage name, alias, photo, image and/or likeness for this false, outrageous, horrendous, atrocious and heinous sex scandal,”
The new plaintiffs, Jemiah Nash, Marquease Richardson, Precious Burnley, Shinita Martin and Dolly Bolden say Powell included their names in her book, “Breaking Cardinal Rules: Basketball and the Escort Queen.” alleging that they were the prostitutes who participated in the parties at Billy Minardi Hall from 2010-14. The plaintiffs claim Powell, Cady and IBJ Book Publishing label them as prostitutes and say.
“These allegations are absolutely false,”
According to the lawsuit.
The other plaintiffs, Kyle Hornback, Jamie Smith, Rebecca Sommer and Dillion Hornback, are all University of Louisville students who say Katina Powell’s book inflicted damage to the value of their degrees from the University of Louisville.
The suit states.
“The negative impact by Katina Powell causing scandalous damage to the University of Louisville adversely affects every student’s future and the marketability of obtained degrees,”
