Only one problem, impermissible communication between Drake and three potential student-athletes (PSAs) on April 27, is an NCAA violation!
So how does Kentucky save face on this violation? They issue a cease-and-desist to Drake.
After Big Blue Madness concluded, Drake ”headed back toward the locker room to say goodbye to the John Calipari and “approached four-star shooting guard commit Charles Matthews, and asked for a picture.”
The photo request was considered a Level III violation. The university self-reported and sent a letter to the NCAA explaining it had “issued a cease-and-desist letter to Drake. They directed him to refrain from conversations with prospects or taking photos with prospects when that conversation or photo occurs outside the parameters established by the NCAA.”
The photo above shows Drake with four-star recruit Charles Matthews, this resulted in a Level III violation.
